Where is Russia going

This work examines the relationship between public opinion about the correctness

(or incorrectness) of the movement of Russia and the annual growth of tree rings.

One of the results was a short-term forecast of changes in the social climate in the

Russian Federation based on the climate forecast of scientists-dendrochronologists.

 

As material for the work, an indicator of public opinion was taken since 1996, compiled

based on tens of thousands of responses from Russians to the question: "Are things

in the country going on the whole in the right direction today, or is the country moving along

the wrong path?" To predict sociological data by the neural network until 2025,

a dendro-climtological model of trees in the Volga region was used.

 

The project was prepared with the participation of employees of the Department

of Glaciology of the Institute of Geography of the Russian Academy of Sciences -

Candidates of Geographical Sciences Veronika Kuznetsova and Vladimir Matskovsky.
